Diseases

Urological diseases are common and include disorders of the urinary system (kidney, ureter, bladder and urethra) as well as the male genital system (prostate, penis and testis). The most common diseases are:

  • infections
  • stones
  • cancer

The other conditions that require the expertise of a urologist are:

  • prostate enlargement (BPH)
  • urinary incontinence (UI)
  • male infertility, andropause and erectile dysfunction (ED)

Many of the diseases are age-related, esp. cancers, BPH, UI and ED. With the rapidly ageing population, more people are expected to develop degenerative and dysfunctional urological problems. Consult your urologist early if you have such urinary symptoms before the problem gets worse.
